Whoops, it's actually called Jinos!!!!! I've been meaning to add a review about this cafe for ages. I've been a few times and it's a great family owned little cafe. Bring your own alcohol, cafe is basic and staff, hmmm is a different story! First few times I went was about 2 years ago and she was very rude but we kept going as we thought it was funny and added to its uniqueness! But we went back the other day, we had a different waitress and she was very nice and friendly! It was a surprise that she was nice and we said she must be new! Ha. The food is no frills, always fast, delicious and great value. I love it there and into the evening it's always busy.

This review is a bit of a throw back really. And as much a memory of a fantastic time. It was summer, a year ago now. We needed somewhere to eat, it needed to be fast and to appeal to all six of us. We were stationed just up the road from the Arndale and lost for ideas. On our walk in we saw Jinos. We took a table outside (and that was the magic i think, 8pm and we sat outside, in England!!) We had our own drinks which they were happy to leave us with. We had huge portions of hot food. The staff were really friendly and the bill was pretty small for the amount of food consumed. We even had entertainment when a lorry driver slowed down to hoot at a girl sat with her boyfriend away to our right and she opened up and absolutely embarrassed the foolish driver with a dazzling show of wit. Though the talented and witty patrons are probably a one off the rest was certainly up to scratch. I only hope they've kept the level up all these months down the line.

I really really owe Jino's a new write up, as I've been numerous times since 2010, and they're still top drawer in my book. Why? Not because they're decadent, and not even because I'd say they're my fave for Thai. Because they're cheap, they're quick, they do great service and I *always* leave feeling wonderful. That wonderful Goldilocks full, warmed by a tasty, delicious Thai green curry, and a tin of my favourite coconut water. The outdoor seating, in the brief summer, is where the magic really happens. I know - next to Otley road? Even so, we're so starved of outdoor spots that I'll take any I can get. It's BYOB, so you can enjoy a beer with your food, and the staff have always been pleasant. The décor is a little old these days, and the seating a little greasy spoon, but for a cheap, delicious, swift bite in Headers, you can't beat it. Am I right? I'm sure of it!

Well, I must say, I'm really surprised that Jino's has got some bad reviews! This is my local Thai, and me and my friends love this place. My dish of choice would have to be Pad Thai and some sweetcorn patties - yum!! The place is really quaint and the staff are lovely. I couldn't fault the food, it's lovely.

Despite its fairly confusing appearance (the outside looks like a bargain-basement takeaway, the inside like Tropical World), Jino's is one of the best places in town to enjoy top quality Thai food at reasonable prices in an unstuffy atmosphere. There's a lot of choice on both the lunchtime and evening menus, with plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans too, and you can easily pick up dinner for two for about £15. Spend the change on a nice bottle of wine to bring with you and you have one of the best value evenings out in Leeds. I particularly recommend the Gaeng Matsaman, an aromatic coconut curry that will warm your cockles just as much as any hearty British dish.

Make no mistake, this is definitely a cafe rather than a restaurant, so don't go in expecting anything formal or particularly traditional in terms of hospitality. There are absolutely no frills in Jino's and it almost feels like a kitchen in a student house rather than an eatery - but somehow this works. They offer food that is representative of the authentic little cafes that you actually find in Thailand, at scandalously low prices. Eating at lunchtime, I had the spicy spring rolls to nosh while I waited for my Thai Green Curry to be presented - both dishes were excellent and inexpensive in equal measure. I realised I could have actually got them (and a drink) at an even cheaper price if I'd notice the £6.50 lunchtime special. Oh well, you live and you learn. A final note on the coolness of this place - they almost encourage you to bring your own beer, and do not charge corkage. In my experience, Thai food and beer is simply a match made in heaven, so go ahead and BYOB.
